We process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. What data we collect

- Law enforcement or regulators — where required by law

The Networker Group Ltd · Company No. 15252227
Terms & conditions
These Terms govern your use of The Networker UK operated by The Networker Group Ltd. By accessing the platform, creating an account, browsing listings, booking tickets or submitting enquiries, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
1. About us and the platform
The Networker Group Ltd (Company No. 15252227, VAT No. 454 4092 94) provides an online platform connecting attendees with event organisers and business opportunity listers across the UK.
Unless we expressly state otherwise on an event page, we are a platform provider, not the organiser of third-party events. Your contract to attend a paid event is with the organiser identified on the event listing.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, or have verifiable parental/guardian consent
- You must provide accurate, current information and keep your account secure
- Accounts are personal and must not be shared or transferred without our consent
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or our Acceptable Use policy
3. Platform services
- Event discovery & ticketing — browse listings, save events, and purchase tickets where enabled
- Organiser tools — list events, manage attendees, and receive payments via Stripe (subject to Organiser Terms)
- Business opportunities — browse listings and submit enquiries; we do not guarantee outcomes of any business relationship
4. Bookings and payments
- Prices, availability and event details are set by organisers and displayed before you complete checkout
- Payments are processed by Stripe. By paying, you also agree to Stripe’s applicable terms
- A booking fee (4.5% + 20p per ticket) may apply at checkout. This covers platform and payment processing and is shown before you pay
- Booking confirmations are sent by email. It is your responsibility to provide a correct email address
- Your name, email address, and any guest names submitted at checkout are shared with the event organiser to manage your booking and attendance
5. Consumer information (UK)
Where you book as a consumer, we and/or the organiser will provide pre-contract information required by the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, including the main characteristics of the service, total price, identity of the trader, and cancellation rights where applicable.
See our Refunds & cancellations policy for detail on cancellation rights. Statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.
6. Your responsibilities
- Use the platform lawfully and in accordance with our Acceptable Use policy
- Do not scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt unauthorised access to the platform
- Do not submit false reviews, misleading listings, or fraudulent enquiries
- Respect intellectual property rights in platform content and third-party listings
7. Intellectual property
platform branding, software, design and original content are owned by The Networker Group Ltd or its licensors. You may not copy, modify or distribute them without written permission. Organisers retain rights in their own listing content but grant us a licence to display it on The Networker UK.
8. Liability
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. We are not responsible for the conduct of organisers, attendees, or third parties, nor for the quality, safety or legality of events or business opportunities listed on The Networker UK.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from platform use shall not exceed the greater of (a) £100 or (b) the total fees you paid to us (not organisers) in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Changes and governing law
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated via The Networker UK or email where appropriate. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Refunds & cancellations
This policy explains how refunds and cancellations work for event tickets and paid platform services on The Networker UK. It should be read alongside the organiser’s own event terms shown on each listing. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
1. Who you are buying from
For most paid events, your contract is with the event organiser, not The Networker Group Ltd. We provide the booking technology and payment processing. The organiser is responsible for delivering the event and for honouring their stated refund policy.
Where The Networker Group Ltd is named as the seller on the checkout page, we are the trader and this policy applies directly.
2. Before you book
- Review the event page for date, time, location, price, and any organiser-specific terms
- Check whether the event is free, paid, or invitation-only
- Note the organiser’s refund policy where displayed — organisers may set their own reasonable terms provided they comply with UK consumer law
- Ensure guest names entered at checkout are correct; changes may require organiser approval
3. Cancellation rights (consumers)
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, consumers generally have a 14-day cancellation right for distance contracts. However, this right does not apply to leisure or entertainment services relating to a specific date or period (such as event tickets for a fixed date), where the trader has informed you of this exemption.
4. Event cancelled or materially changed
- Cancelled by organiser — you are entitled to a full refund of the ticket price paid (including any mandatory booking fees shown at checkout). Refunds are processed via Stripe to your original payment method within 14 days of cancellation notification
- Postponed or relocated — the organiser should offer a transfer to the new date or a refund. If the change is significant and you can no longer attend, you may have a right to a refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015
- Platform-initiated removal — if we remove a fraudulent or non-compliant listing before the event, we will work with the organiser and Stripe to arrange appropriate refunds
5. Attendee-initiated cancellations
- Free events — cancel your registration through your account or by contacting the organiser; repeated no-shows may affect future bookings
- Paid events — if you can no longer attend, the organiser’s stated full-refund, no-refund, or custom policy applies. A no-refund term does not affect statutory rights where the event is cancelled, materially changed, or not provided as described
- Unable to attend — unless the organiser permits transfers, tickets are generally non-transferable without their consent
To request a refund, contact the organiser first via the event listing. If unresolved, email hello@thenetworkeruk.com with your booking reference and we will help facilitate where possible.
6. Failed, duplicate or unauthorised payments
- Failed payments are not charged; retry checkout if your booking was not confirmed
- Duplicate charges caused by a technical error will be refunded promptly once verified
- Report unauthorised card use to your bank immediately and notify us
7. Business opportunity listings
Browsing business opportunities is free. Enquiries do not constitute a purchase contract on The Networker UK. Any investment, franchise or partnership agreement is solely between you and the lister. Due diligence is your responsibility. Paid premium listing fees for organisers are generally non-refundable once the listing is published, except where required by law or we fail to deliver the purchased service.
8. Chargebacks and disputes
If you dispute a charge with your card issuer, Stripe’s dispute process applies. We and the organiser may submit evidence of the booking and event terms. Please contact us before raising a chargeback so we can try to resolve the issue directly.
Organiser terms
These terms apply if you register as an organiser on The Networker UK, list events, sell tickets, publish business opportunities, or use organiser dashboard tools. By listing on The Networker UK you agree to these terms in addition to our general Terms & conditions.
1. Your obligations
- Provide accurate, complete and lawful event and opportunity listings
- Honour bookings and deliver events as described
- Display a clear refund and cancellation policy before attendees purchase paid tickets
- Comply with UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013
- Hold appropriate insurance, licences and permissions for your events and business activities
- Respond to attendee and enquiry communications promptly and professionally
- Process attendee data only for event administration and in compliance with UK GDPR — do not add attendees to marketing lists or contact them about unrelated services without their consent
2. Payments and fees
- Ticket payments are processed via Stripe. You must complete Stripe Connect onboarding to receive payouts
- Attendees pay a booking fee at checkout (4.5% + 20p per ticket), which covers platform and payment processing. You receive the full ticket price you set
- You are responsible for your own tax, VAT and accounting obligations on ticket revenue
- Where legally required, we may report seller income to HMRC under UK platform operator rules — see our organiser guidance
- We may withhold payouts where there is evidence of fraud, chargebacks or material breach of these terms
3. Refunds you must honour
You must refund attendees where required by law, including when you cancel an event or make a material change that the attendee cannot reasonably accept. Refunds should be issued via The Networker UK/Stripe payment flow where possible within 14 days.
4. Business opportunities
- Listings must be truthful and not misleading. You must have authority to promote the opportunity
- You are not permitted to list unlawful schemes, pyramid selling, or unregulated financial products without appropriate FCA authorisation
- Network marketing listings are only allowed where the opportunity is primarily about selling products or services. Recruitment-primary listings (downline, upline, team-build income) are not permitted
- Do not include estimated earnings, commission projections, or guaranteed income claims
- Respond to member enquiries in good faith and within a reasonable timeframe
5. Content and moderation
We may edit, suspend or remove listings that breach our Acceptable Use policy, mislead users, or create legal or reputational risk. Repeated breaches may result in permanent removal and withholding of outstanding payouts pending dispute resolution. See our plain-English Platform rules for what we expect from organisers day to day.
6. Data protection and roles
This section explains how personal data is handled when you use organiser tools. It supplements our Privacy policy and UK GDPR obligations.
Who is the controller?
- The Networker Group Ltd is the data controller for Account data, platform operation, payments technology, and member preferences
- You (the organiser or opportunity lister) are a separate data controller for attendee and enquiry data you receive to run your events or respond to opportunities
What attendee data you receive
When someone books your event or enquires on your listing, we share the minimum data needed for you to deliver the service — typically name, email, guest names, ticket quantity, and any application answers the attendee submitted at checkout or enquiry.
Your responsibilities
- Use attendee and enquiry data only to administer the relevant event or opportunity — not for unrelated marketing without separate consent
- Keep data secure; limit access to people who need it; delete or anonymise when no longer needed
- Respond to data subject requests for data you hold as controller (access, correction, erasure where applicable)
- Notify us at hello@thenetworkeruk.com if you suffer a personal data breach affecting platform-sourced attendee data
Our role
We provide the platform and pass booking/enquiry data to you. We do not control how you run your event beyond these terms. We may suspend listings or accounts that misuse personal data.
Enterprise organisers: If your organisation requires a written data-sharing schedule, contact hello@thenetworkeruk.com. A standard template is available for director signature — not required for normal self-serve listing.
7. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify The Networker Group Ltd against claims, losses and costs arising from your listings, events, breach of these terms, or violation of third-party rights, except where caused by our negligence.
Platform rules
These platform rules set out what we expect from organisers and opportunity listers on The Networker UK. They summarise our Organiser terms, Acceptable use, and Terms & conditions in plain English. If anything here conflicts with those policies, the legal policies prevail.
1. List honestly and deliver what you promise
- Event and opportunity listings must be accurate, complete, and lawful — correct dates, venue, prices, and descriptions
- Do not create fake events, duplicate test listings on the live site, or mislead people about who is hosting
- Honour bookings: run events as described and respond to attendee and enquiry messages promptly and professionally
- Set a clear refund policy before selling paid tickets and follow it, plus your legal obligations (see Refunds & cancellations)
- If you cancel an event, refund paying attendees as required — the platform may remove listings and issue refunds on your behalf where necessary
2. Protect attendee and member data
- Use booking and enquiry data only to run the relevant event or opportunity — not for unrelated marketing without consent
- Do not scrape, export, or spam member contact details
- Keep attendee data secure and tell us at hello@thenetworkeruk.com if you suffer a data breach affecting platform-sourced data
3. Keep the community professional
- No harassment, discrimination, hate speech, threats, or abusive behaviour
- No spam, bulk unsolicited marketing, or impersonation of another person or business
- No attempts to compromise platform security or upload malicious content
- Reviews must reflect genuine experience — do not offer incentives for positive reviews or review your own events
4. Business opportunities
- Listings must be truthful. You must have authority to promote the opportunity
- Do not list pyramid schemes, unlawful trading schemes, or unregulated financial products without appropriate FCA authorisation
- Network marketing must be product-selling only — recruitment-primary / downline schemes are not allowed
- Do not make estimated earnings, guaranteed income, passive income, or misleading investment claims
- The Networker UK does not verify opportunity claims or provide investment advice
5. Payments and payouts
- Complete Stripe Connect onboarding to receive ticket payouts
- You are responsible for your own tax and VAT on ticket revenue
- We may withhold payouts where there is evidence of fraud, chargebacks, or a material breach of these rules
6. If you break the rules
We may edit, unpublish, or remove listings, cancel events, issue refunds to attendees, and contact you by email. Depending on severity:
- Conduct warning — for breaches such as misleading listings, quality issues, or repeated policy problems. You will receive an email explaining why.
- Three conduct warnings — your organiser profile may be suspended: your group page is unpublished and live events are taken off the site. You can appeal to hello@thenetworkeruk.com.
- Serious or repeated breach — immediate suspension, permanent removal, or referral to law enforcement where appropriate. Fees may be non-refundable where an account is terminated for breach.
7. Full legal policies

Cookie policy
This Cookie Policy explains how The Networker UK and The Networker International use cookies and similar technologies, in accordance with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help sites remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how the site is used.
2. Cookies we use
- Strictly necessary — authentication sessions, security tokens, and hub view preferences (e.g. attendee/organiser mode). These are essential and cannot be switched off
- Functional — remember dashboard preferences, login email when you choose “remember me”, and session cache for navigation performance
- Analytics — Vercel Web Analytics helps us understand page views and performance. When you accept analytics cookies, we may also store anonymised event-search and filter usage (search terms, location/type filters, and result counts — not your name or email) to improve inventory and discovery. We configure this to minimise personal data collection. If you later switch analytics off, we stop sending further analytics events
- First-party product beacons — limited, cookieless counts for sponsor clicks, pitch opens, and promote links (no name or email; used to operate paid placements)
- Fonts — pages may load typefaces from Google Fonts, which can involve a connection to Google’s servers
- Third-party (during checkout) — Stripe may set cookies when you complete a payment
- Maps — map views may load resources from third-party providers (e.g. OpenStreetMap/Leaflet tiles)
3. Managing cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings — block, delete, or be notified when cookies are set. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent you from signing in or completing bookings.
Acceptable use
The Networker UK is a professional business networking community. These standards apply to all members, attendees, organisers and visitors. Organisers should also read our plain-English Platform rules.
1. Prohibited conduct
- Harassment, discrimination, hate speech, or threatening behaviour
- Spam, unsolicited bulk marketing, or scraping member contact details
- Fraudulent listings, fake events, or misleading business opportunities
- Fake or incentivised reviews (see CMA guidance on online reviews)
- Impersonation of another person or business
- Uploading malware or attempting to compromise platform security
2. Reviews
Reviews must reflect genuine personal experience. Organisers must not offer incentives for positive reviews or submit reviews of their own events. We may remove reviews that are abusive, defamatory, or clearly fabricated. Use Report review on an event or organiser page, or in your organiser dashboard, if you believe a review is fake or inappropriate.
3. Enforcement
Breaches may result in warning, content removal, account suspension or permanent ban. Serious breaches may be reported to law enforcement. Fees are non-refundable where accounts are terminated for breach.
Copyright & content
This section explains how copyright and other intellectual property rights apply to content on The Networker UK, including listings, images, and reviews uploaded by organisers and members.
1. Our content
platform branding, software, design, and original editorial content are owned by The Networker Group Ltd or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission except as allowed by law.
2. Your content (organisers & members)
When you upload or submit content (event descriptions, logos, photos, opportunity listings, reviews, replies), you confirm that:
- You own the content or have all necessary rights and licences to use and share it on The Networker UK
- Your content does not infringe any third party’s copyright, trade mark, or other intellectual property rights
- You have permission from any identifiable individuals shown in images you upload
You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, and distribute your content on The Networker UK and in related service communications (for example, event pages, search results, and confirmation emails) for as long as the content remains published.
3. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on The Networker UK infringes your copyright, email hello@thenetworkeruk.com with subject Copyright complaint and include:
- Your name and contact details
- Identification of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed
- The URL or description of the infringing material on The Networker UK
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised
- A statement that the information is accurate and you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf
We will review valid notices promptly and may remove or disable access to disputed content. We may notify the uploader and, where appropriate, allow a counter-notice if they believe the removal was mistaken.
4. Repeat infringement
We may suspend or terminate accounts of users who repeatedly upload infringing content or abuse the complaint process.
5. Reviews and third-party links
Reviews reflect the opinions of individual members. Organisers may reply to reviews. If you believe a review is defamatory, misleading, or otherwise unlawful, use Report review on the event or organiser page, or email us. External websites linked from The Networker UK are not under our control.
Advertising & sponsorship
We are committed to transparency in line with ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) guidance and the UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising and Direct & Promotional Marketing (CAP Code).
1. Paid advertising & sponsorship
Paid placements on The Networker UK are advertising. They are clearly labelled so you can tell them apart from editorial content. Payment does not imply our endorsement of the advertiser.
- Powered by — hero sponsor placements on browse pages (events, organisers, opportunities). When a sponsor logo is live, the unit shows a “Powered by” header and a large clickable logo. Empty slots show “Your brand here” as available inventory.
- Sponsored — sidebar carousel, city/county partner, and compact placements on detail pages. These units display a visible Sponsored label.
- Transactional emails — where a main sponsor or mini sponsors appear, they are labelled as sponsored content. Sponsor fees help us operate and improve the directory for organisers and members.
See our advertising & sponsorship page for placement details and guide pricing.
2. Homepage partners strip
The “Trusted by our partners & sponsors” logo strip on the homepage may include:
- Active paid sponsors (when agreed as part of a package or partnership),
- Friends, family, and early supporters who have helped launch the platform, and
- Businesses that have partnered with The Networker Group in a non-paid or collaborative capacity.
Not every logo in this strip is a paid advertisement. Where a logo represents a current paid sponsor, that relationship is managed under our sponsorship terms.
3. Premium Spotlight & listings
Featured event, organiser, and opportunity listings in Premium Spotlight carousels are self-promotion by the listing owner (organisers promoting their own events or profiles), not third-party advertising. They are distinct from paid Powered by hero and Mini Sponsor placements.
4. Affiliate and third-party links
Where we use affiliate links, we will disclose this. Third-party websites linked from The Networker UK are not under our control and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
5. Enquiries
Sponsorship enquiries: rosie@thenetworkeruk.com
