Our story
2023
Networking was spread thinly across the web: face-to-face meetings, online sessions, exhibitions, and funding opportunities sat on different sites. Rosie McGilvray and Sue Turmel started The Networker as a free UK directory so people could find them in one place.
Across The Networker brand last year, more than 27,000 events were listed, and 17,000+ networkers used the directory to find a meeting, group, or opportunity.
Today
As more groups used the directory, organisers needed tools beyond a listing. With Catherine Hancher leading the rebuild alongside Rosie, The Networker UK grew into a ticketing platform and business opportunities network, with payouts, attendee tools, and a workspace for independent groups.
Members can still browse everything in one place. Organisers can manage listings, tickets, and enquiries from the same platform. Sue Turmel is no longer a company director; day-to-day Hub operations are led by Rosie and Catherine at The Networker Group Ltd.

The Networker UK Hub is run by Rosie and Catherine at The Networker Group Ltd (Companies House 15252227). Rosie and Sue Turmel founded the original Networker directory; Sue is no longer a company director. That is our only operating company — not similarly named entities such as NETWORKER UK LIMITED.
